Our Team

Nikki Millett, MSW, VSW

Nikki (she/they) began their veterinary career in 2009 as a CSR, then eventually working their way up to becoming to a veterinary technician. She graduated in 2021 from Northern Arizona University with honors as a social worker and went back to school for her veterinary social work certification. She is currently a human intensive care unit social worker returning to the veterinary field in this exciting and critical capacity. They bring a unique and niche skillset to the table.

They have two cats who they love dearly. Her dog Biggie who inspired this career path is now her guardian angel. She is passionate about raising awareness about the mental health crisis within the veterinary industry and gladly share statistics and stories with people surprised to hear about such a crisis. Nikki feels as though it’s a privilege to work toward closing the gap and strengthening the relationship between pet owners and their pet’s care team. They also understand how devastating it is to carry disenfranchised grief after the loss of a pet and find comfort and healing in nurturing continuing bonds with those who have passed. In her free time she loves video games, creating art, spending time with loved ones, and tending to her cats and many carnivorous plants.
